If you use a Mac, the awkward truth is that the three most recommended forex backtesters — Forex Tester, Soft4FX and the MT5 Strategy Tester — are all Windows software with no macOS build. You have two routes: use tools that run in a browser, or pay to run Windows. This page prices both honestly.
"Native" here means it runs on macOS without Windows, a virtual machine or a compatibility layer. In practice that means browser-based.

For most Mac users the sensible conclusion is at the top of that table: a free browser tool removes the entire problem, and the compromise you accept is spread modelling and automation rather than convenience.

Add it up before committing. A Mac user wanting Forex Tester with Super Data faces the software purchase, the data subscription, a virtualisation licence, possibly a Windows licence, and roughly fourteen setup steps — to run software that will be slower than on the PC it was written for.
Sometimes it is. The browser tools have real gaps, and pretending otherwise would be useless advice.
If none of those apply — and for most people learning discretionary price action, none do — the workaround is expense and friction bought for nothing.
