Yes. It is free, there is no account, no download, no card and no advertising — you open the site and start trading historical candles within about ten seconds. Since "free with no signup" reasonably makes people suspicious, this page answers the question underneath it: what is the catch?
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Does it cost money? | No. There is no paid tier at all |
| Is there a free trial that expires? | No. Nothing expires |
| Do I need an account? | No. No email, no signup |
| Do I need to give card details? | No. There is nothing to pay for |
| Are there ads? | No |
| Is there a session or usage cap? | No |
| Are any instruments locked? | No. All 15 are available |
| Do I need to download anything? | No. It runs in the browser |
| Is my data sold? | No. Without an account there is nothing to attach data to |
The honest answer to "how is this free" is that the expensive part is smaller than people assume, and it is not inference or servers.
The genuine cost is bandwidth. The candle archive is roughly 543 MB of binary data — BTCUSD's one-minute file alone is about 51 MB — and every session serves some of it. There is no per-user compute cost, because the replay engine, the drawing tools, the order handling and the statistics all run in your browser rather than on a server.
The AI assistant tab is free for a related reason worth being explicit about: it connects your own coding agent to the chart. The site never holds an API key and never pays for inference, so there is nothing to recoup.
That is the whole economic picture. Not a loss-leader for a paid tier, because there is no paid tier.
The more useful trust signal than a list of features is a list of the things it does badly. These are the four that will actually affect you.
The data is mid-price OHLC, so the cost of trading is invisible. For a strategy targeting 5 pips against a typical 1.5-pip spread, that is roughly 30% of the edge unaccounted for — enough to make a losing system look profitable. Do not use this tool to validate a scalping strategy. Use BacktestFX, which is free and has real spreads, or Forex Tester's Super Data tier.
There is no scripting layer, no strategy language, and no parameter optimisation. Every trade is placed by hand. If you want to sweep a thousand parameter combinations, the free MT5 Strategy Tester does that and this does not.
The archive spans 2021 to 2026 — 28,412,683 one-minute bars across 15 instruments. That is several market conditions but not several decades. It also contains 7 known coverage holes of 3 to 5 days, which are published in full rather than hidden.
This is the limitation most likely to actually hurt you. Sessions, trades and journal entries are stored in that browser's local storage. Clearing your browsing data deletes everything, there is no cloud backup, and switching devices means starting over. Do not build a hundred-trade record here and treat it as permanent.
Separating "is it free" from "is it worth using", since the first does not imply the second.
In our own scored comparison of nine tools it places second at 7.9, behind Forex Tester at 8.1. It scores maximum on cost, speed of starting and accessibility, strongly on manual replay, and zero on automation. Two free competitors beat it on specific axes: BacktestFX has deeper data with real spreads, and the MT5 Strategy Tester does everything automated that this cannot.
What it is genuinely best at: getting you practising within seconds, on real data, with no barrier. Most people who intend to backtest never start, and the setup friction is why. Two clicks removes it.

| Scalp under 10 pips | Do not — no spread modelling |

| Need a permanent, backed-up trade record | Do not rely on it — browser storage only |
A free tool that tells you when to use something else is more useful than one that claims to suit everybody. Four of those eight rows point elsewhere, and that is the accurate picture.
Yes. There is no paid tier, no expiring trial, no account requirement, no card details and no advertising. All 15 instruments and all 28,412,683 one-minute bars are available with no session or usage cap. Earlier versions of the site had a paid tier, which was removed.
No. There is no signup, no email required and no login. You open the site and begin a backtesting session immediately. The trade-off is that sessions and journal entries are stored in your browser's local storage, so clearing browsing data deletes them and they do not follow you between devices.
It does not currently charge for anything. The main running cost is bandwidth for roughly 543 MB of candle data, since the replay engine, charting and statistics all run in the browser rather than on a server. The AI assistant connects your own coding agent, so the site never pays for inference.
Four main ones. Data is mid-price OHLC with no spread modelling, making it unsuitable for scalping under about 10 pips. There is no automated or coded strategy testing. History spans five years rather than decades, with 7 known coverage holes of 3 to 5 days. And all session data lives in browser local storage with no cloud backup.
It requires no account, no email, no card details and no download, so there are no credentials to compromise and nothing to install. It runs entirely in the browser. Since no account exists, there is no user data attached to an identity to sell or lose.
No. Its data is mid-price OHLC with no spread modelling, and for a 5-pip target a typical 1.5-pip spread represents roughly 30% of the edge — enough to make an unprofitable system appear profitable. For scalping, use a tool with real spread data such as BacktestFX, which is free, or Forex Tester's Super Data tier.
No account, no card, no download. Five years of real one-minute data across 15 instruments, replaying bar by bar in your browser.
