▶ Practice Free — No Download, No Sign-in →GBPUSD is my most logged pair — probably 1,500+ sessions over three years. What improved my results most wasn't finding better setups. It was cutting the sessions I shouldn't have been in. Asian session Cable: gone. First 5 mins of London: gone. BoE week without a view: gone. My trade frequency dropped 40%. Profit factor went from 1.2 to 1.8. Less is genuinely more. Golf taught me that before trading did.

What is the position sizing formula in forex?
Lot Size = (Account Balance × Risk%) ÷ (Stop Loss Pips × Pip Value per Lot). This formula ensures you never risk more than your maximum allowed amount on any single trade.
What lot size for a $1,000 account?
At 1% risk ($10) with a 20-pip stop on EURUSD: $10 ÷ (20 × $10) = 0.05 lots. Adjust for different stop distances — a 10-pip stop gives 0.10 lots, a 40-pip stop gives 0.025 lots.
How do I calculate lot size for FTMO challenge?
FTMO has a 5% daily drawdown and 10% max drawdown. Use 0.5% risk per trade to give yourself comfortable room. On a $10,000 FTMO account at 0.5% ($50 risk), 25-pip stop on EURUSD: $50 ÷ (25 × $10) = 0.20 lots.
Should I always risk exactly 1%?
1% is a guideline, not a rigid rule. Conservative traders use 0.5%. Aggressive traders may use up to 2%. For prop firm challenges, 0.5% is safest. Never risk more than 2% if you want to survive 10+ consecutive losses.
