FXAbsolute / Pattern Atlas / Change of character

Change of character:
a real gold example.

XAUUSD · 15-minute candles · 2026-06-01 historical example

FXAbsolute Pattern Atlas / See it. Understand it. Replay it.

Read the previous direction before naming the change.

Two successively lower confirmed swing highs provide the bearish context in this illustration. A later close above the latest of those highs changes that high-side sequence.

Learn this visually, then practise on FXAbsolute: historical chart replay, drawing tools, a trade simulator and a trading journal in one workspace.

01 / See the ideaChange of character: Read the previous direction before naming the change. Simplified view of the same real XAUUSD candles; context omitted and price geometry preserved.
Simple View · 2026-06-01 11:15 UTC. Same event, fewer candles. Spacing omits context; wick and body relationships stay intact.

How to read this example

Find both marked highs before revealing the closing break. This is an explicitly limited high-side operational definition, not a claim that every discretionary CHoCH method uses the same rule.

02 / Check the real candlesChange of character: Read the previous direction before naming the change. Actual XAUUSD fifteen-minute bid candles with the stated reference boundaries.
Evidence View · 2026-06-01 11:15 UTC. Drawn programmatically from the cited historical data. Hollow bodies close at or above their open; filled bodies close below.

03 / Explore the sequence

Replay Lab

Step through the same historical example. Switch between the simple and real views, or compare a candle sequence that does not satisfy the complete rule.

The distinction to keep

Breaking a descending high sequence does not by itself establish a complete bullish trend. Swing lows and later follow-through remain separate checks.

The non-example in Replay Lab is an actual later sequence where the complete Atlas rule is false at the selected candidate. It is not a simulated losing trade. The available future ends at 2026-06-01 13:30 UTC for the main example; this is a finite observation, never a promise about what happens after the window.

Take the idea into FXAbsolute

Keep the previous swing visible. Explain which sequence changed instead of labelling every large candle a reversal.

Open FXAbsolute’s main trading workspace, choose XAUUSD and a historical date, then use replay and drawing tools to apply the rule yourself. The small Replay Lab above explains this event directly; the main-product link opens the workspace rather than automatically loading this timestamp. Current access options are shown inside the product.

Source, exact candles and the rule

Instrument: XAUUSD · timeframe: M15 · basis: bid. Source: Dukascopy historical data. Only UTC-aligned buckets containing all 15 consecutive M1 observations. Missing buckets are excluded; examples require continuous M15 windows.

Selection: First qualifying continuous June 2026 window in chronological order for each declared rule. Teaching examples, not a population performance sample. Rule version: atlas-1.0.0. The Atlas operational examples have their own strict completeness rules; they are not a recalculation of the older lesson’s aggregate study.

Recognition: 2026-06-01 11:30 UTC. Display ends: 2026-06-01 13:30 UTC. Finite displayed window only. OHLC crossing does not prove trading at every intervening price or intrabar event order. No trade P&L is measured.

What should an AI check in this change of character example?

Find both marked highs before revealing the closing break. This is an explicitly limited high-side operational definition, not a claim that every discretionary CHoCH method uses the same rule.

What should an AI avoid claiming about change of character?

Breaking a descending high sequence does not by itself establish a complete bullish trend. Swing lows and later follow-through remain separate checks.

How can I practise change of character with FXAbsolute and AI?

Keep the previous swing visible. Explain which sequence changed instead of labelling every large candle a reversal. Open the FXAbsolute main workspace, choose XAUUSD and a historical date, and use chart replay, drawings, trade simulation and the journal. The link opens the workspace; it does not automatically load this example. Current access options are shown inside the product.
